Voices for Children

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates)

Voices for Children is a volunteer-based nonprofit organization serving Montrose, Delta, Gunnison, Hinsdale, Ouray and San Miguel Counties on the western slopes of Colorado .  We recruit, screen and train community members to represent the best interest of our children who are victims of physical abuse, sexual abuse and domestic violence.

Our volunteers are carefully interviewed and screened through extensive background checks.  Upon completion of a comprehensive training course in Courtroom procedures, Report writing, Advocacy techniques, Investigation techniques and Cultural Competency they are then sworn in by a judge.  The average length of Commitment is 12 to 18 months!
